Through good times and bad, we remain committed to advocate for and to involve our community members in collective efforts to improve the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

What we've accomplished

St. Paul Revitalization Project. Supported the revival of the Joseph Ave Festival. Fostered redevelopment of the former Silver Stadium site as the 14621 Industrial Park. Helped create the Progressive Neighborhood Federal Credit Union. Campaigned for the building of the Roberto Clemente Elementary School. Advocated for the construction of the Avenue D Recreational Center in-ground pool. Participated in the rehab and sale of more than 20 vacant houses. Assisted in forming more than 150 block clubs since 1978. Advocated to retain Hickey-Freeman Co., (A major employer in the neighborhood was successful, with City and State funding secured).

Active-Ongoing Projects

Offer Free computer classes to 14621 residents, nominal fee to non-14621 residents. Promoting community gardens (six gardens established since 2004). Continue to support activities for current block clubs. Providing education and outreach to end Lead poisoning. Engaging Youth Through Media and Technology. Covering the basics of media literacy and the power of media. Recruit for PAC-TAC, neighborhood watch. Work with Rochester Police Department in targeted initiatives to address chronic open air drug markets and drug houses. Partner with Rochester Fire Department on open house, outreach, and education efforts in neighborhood.

Working with three commercial areas and business associations (To strengthen retail business in neighborhood (HABA, BOA, El-Camino Estate)

Owner-occupied rehab and CHDO activities. (Renovating vacant homes for first time home owners.

Maintain Tool Bank (the first in Rochester - for members) To enable home owners and tenants to make basic repairs.
